Promise Ball Event Details
JDRF Mid-Ohio Chapter and Promise Sponsor, Nationwide, announce 12th Annual Promise Ball, "keeping the promise," to be held Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 6:00pm at the Hilton Polaris Hotel.
This year our honorees are Drs. Patricia and Steven Gabbe. Dr. Patricia Gabbe is Professor Pediatrics at Nationwide Children's Hospital and Dr. Steve Gabbe is Senior Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of The Ohio State University Medical Center. We are thrilled to have them as part of our chapter and champions for our cause.
For those of you not familiar with the Promise Ball, it is a black-tie optional event. It's an elegant, sophisticated, fun evening complete with dinner, live entertainment and a silent, super-silent and live auction. The Ball is a major fundraiser for our organization and our goal for the evening is to raise nearly $319,000.
The 2010 Promise Ball, with its theme of "keeping the promise," is sure to be an exciting evening with live and silent auctions, music, local celebrities and more. Those attending will have the opportunity to bid on exotic trips, dinners, jewelry, special events and more as organizers hope to generate nearly half a million dollars toward JDRF’s research goals.
During the evening, there will be a moment after the Live Auction when the room is stilled and the story of hope unfolds…we call it Fund A Cure. It is the opportunity to donate directly to research and fund the science that will transform charity and change the lives of our families and friends with type 1 diabetes.
We hope you will join us as we endeavor to increase the pace of science and focus on the main thing…to find a cure…fast.
Individual tickets are available for $200, or you may purchase a table of ten for $2,000. People interested in purchasing tickets for the 2010 Promise Ball, "keeping the promise," may contact the JDRF office at (614) 464-2873 or midohio@jdrf.org. We look forward to seeing you there!
